Johan started his PhD studies at the Division of Combustion Physics in the middle of 2002, with the aim of developing laser spectroscopic techniques for combustion purposes. He defended his thesis in 2008 and has since been working with laser diagnostic techniques aimed towards validation of chemical-kinetic models for combustion. Johan has since 2006 also been working with student counseling and teaching at the Faculty of Science.
Johan received his MSc in Physics at Lund University (Faculty of Science) before he started his PhD-studies at Combustion Physics. The PhD work has been aimed at the development of new detection schemes in combustion diagnostics, in particular filtered Rayleigh scattering (FRS) and infrared polarization spectroscopy (IRPS) and in which area he received his PhD in the beginning of 2008. Throughout the PhD studies the interest in teaching and outreach has been pronounced.
